Virgil Abloh has teased us with his infamous Jordan 1 retro from his ‘The Ten’ Series collaboration with sneaker giant, Nike. This time it is referred to by Abloh himself, as the “exact pair that kicked off an epiphany.”
It is a powerful statement made by a powerful designer on a powerful shoe, all done in sync with street culture and basketball. The deconstructed design took the sneaker game to new heights back in 2018 when they were first introduced to the hype beast market. The deconstructed approach of this series was in fact, a complete rethinking and dissection of the hyped shoe styles; 10 different pairs Nike created that changed some part of the culture.
We can assume the Chicago born and raised designer of the “grey area between black and white” knowN as Off-White and head designer for Louis Vuitton menswear,, was just as mesmerized watching the “Last Dance” doc on ESPN which depicts the events that took place during Michael Jordan’s final season as a Chicago Bull concerning his younger years as a student-athlete and beyond.
This shoe is expected to be an exclusive nonetheless. But, there is still a great opportunity to cop your pair as the drop will surely be announced for the sneakerheads to converge on.
