SKALL’s “La Piscine” Brings Copenhagen’s Bohemian Spirit To Spring-Summer 2027

Copenhagen has long offered fashion a distinct relationship with nature, design and everyday life. For Spring-Summer 2027, Danish label SKALL leans further into that dialogue with “La Piscine,” a collection presented within the natural surroundings of Frederik’s Bastion at Holmen.
Set in the garden of an 18th-century gunpowder house overlooking the water, the SKALL show places fashion within an environment that feels intrinsically connected to the collection’s sensibility. Located near the free town of Christiania and its surrounding untamed landscape, the setting reflects the sisters Julie and Marie Skall’s continued interest in creating clothing that feels timeless while remaining connected to the world around it.
The collection’s title, “La Piscine,” evokes a sense of leisure and escape, while the presentation embraces what SKALL describes as a meeting point between “timeless treasures, a bohemian sensibility, and a dialogue between the everyday and the artful.” Rather than separating fashion from its surroundings, the show allows the landscape to become part of the experience.
An installation of pennants provides the backdrop, recalling the sails and maritime life associated with Copenhagen’s harbor. Trees, water and the historic architecture of Holmen establish an atmosphere that feels less like a conventional runway and more like an intimate gathering among friends.
That sense of intimacy is central to SKALL’s approach. As a family-owned company, the brand places considerable value on its relationships with the people and partners who contribute to its work. For the Spring-Summer 2027 presentation, that philosophy extends to the casting, music and styling.
The runway features local Danish girls from Copenhagen, including family and friends of the house, creating a relaxed atmosphere that feels deliberately removed from the spectacle often associated with fashion week. The soundtrack follows the same philosophy. SKALL’s in-house fitting model, Ida Vermehren, makes her debut as a singer-songwriter, performing acoustic songs from her forthcoming folk-inspired EP.
The result is a show grounded in community as much as clothing.
Footwear further reinforces SKALL’s approach to conscious design and long-term relationships. Models walk in vegan styles from KEEN, Birkenstock and Ball Pagés, with each partnership bringing its own interpretation of craftsmanship and longevity to the collection.
SKALL’s relationship with KEEN continues with three new versions of the Jasper shoe, presented in light pink, yellow and a natural melange. The collaboration builds on an established relationship between the two brands while introducing a softer, more playful palette for the spring-summer season.
Birkenstock contributes vegan interpretations of its classic sandal silhouettes, marking a new collaboration built around shared values surrounding long-lasting design. Meanwhile, Barcelona-based Ball Pagés returns to the SKALL runway with its handmade sandals, each produced from natural materials and carrying the individuality of traditional craftsmanship.
For SKALL, those details are not simply accessories to the collection. They speak to a larger philosophy in which longevity, materiality and personal connection remain central to how fashion can be experienced.
The finishing touches continue that conversation. Vintage baskets from basket maker Steen Hedegaard Madsen’s private archive collection are incorporated into the styling alongside vintage straw hats from Julie and Marie Skall’s own private collection. The accessories reinforce the collection’s emphasis on objects that possess history, character and a sense of permanence.
“La Piscine” ultimately reflects a version of Scandinavian fashion that feels increasingly relevant: less concerned with excess and more invested in authenticity, craftsmanship and the relationship between clothing and place.
At Holmen, SKALL transforms a historic Copenhagen setting into an extension of its creative language. The water, architecture, music, vintage objects and local community all become part of the collection’s narrative, illustrating how fashion can exist naturally within its environment rather than overpower it.
For Spring-Summer 2027, SKALL makes a case for fashion that feels lived-in before it is even worn—rooted in Copenhagen, informed by nature and built around the enduring idea that the most meaningful pieces are often those that carry a story.
