SOREL Reimagines Three Cold-Weather Icons With Its “Age of Discovery” Collection
By PAGE Editor
As outdoor footwear continues to influence contemporary menswear, performance-driven design has become an increasingly important part of the everyday wardrobe. SOREL is approaching the season with a collection that balances technical construction with the enduring appeal of utilitarian style, reworking three familiar silhouettes through its “Age of Discovery” heritage pack.
Built around a premium black-and-tan color palette, the collection introduces updated interpretations of the Caribou and Daystorm boots alongside the Callsign Enigma sneaker. Each style reflects a different approach to navigating colder weather, bringing waterproof materials, durable traction and considered detailing into footwear designed for both function and visual impact.
The Caribou Horizon™ Zip GTX Men's Winter Boot, priced at $400, revisits one of SOREL’s recognizable designs with a more contemporary construction. Suede and full-grain leather meet a molded rubber shell, while a removable zip shroud and military-inspired lacing introduce a more streamlined, technical finish. GORE-TEX waterproof construction and a Vibram outsole reinforce the boot’s practical foundation, preserving the rugged character associated with the original silhouette while adapting it for modern wear.
The Daystorm Horizon™ Zip GTX Men's Boot, priced at $280, takes a similarly considered approach. Full-grain leather, a removable zip shroud and a molded rubber sole establish a commanding profile, while GORE-TEX waterproof protection and Vibram traction prioritize performance in unpredictable conditions. An OrthoLite footbed adds another layer of everyday comfort, positioning the boot as a versatile option for navigating urban environments during the colder months.
Rounding out the collection, the Callsign™ Enigma GTX Men's Sneaker, also priced at $280, brings the brand’s outdoor sensibility into a sportier silhouette. Combining suede and textile with abrasion-resistant TPU detailing, the sneaker incorporates a gusseted zip shroud and speed lacing for a functional, streetwear-influenced finish. Its GORE-TEX construction and Vibram XS Trek Evo outsole maintain the collection’s emphasis on weather resistance and dependable traction without sacrificing a more casual profile.
Together, the three styles demonstrate how heritage footwear can evolve beyond its original purpose. Rather than treating technical performance and contemporary style as competing priorities, SOREL brings them together through material contrast, modern closures and familiar silhouettes refined for present-day use.
With the “Age of Discovery” collection, the brand makes a case for cold-weather footwear that works as hard as it looks, offering men practical options that remain relevant beyond a single season.
