Breezm’s App Signals a New Era of Precision-Fit Eyewear—No Store Visit Required

In an industry long defined by standardization, Breezm is challenging one of eyewear’s most accepted compromises: the idea that discomfort is simply part of the experience. With the launch of its first mobile platform, Breezm: Eyewear Made For You, the Seoul-founded company is scaling its precision-fit model across the United States—bringing custom, 3D-printed eyewear directly into consumers’ hands, and homes.

The move represents more than a digital expansion. It signals a shift in how eyewear is conceptualized, designed, and delivered—one that prioritizes individual anatomy over mass production.

Founded in 2017, Breezm has built its reputation in South Korea by rejecting the “average fit” model that has historically governed eyewear design. Instead, the brand engineers frames around the nuances of each wearer’s face. Its new app translates that in-store experience into a fully remote process: users complete a guided facial scan, receive AI-driven style recommendations, and order frames manufactured on demand through Breezm’s proprietary 3D printing and laser-cutting systems.

“At Breezm, we design every frame around the individual,” said co-founder and co-CEO Zenma Hyungjin Park. “Glasses should feel lighter, fit better, and ultimately disappear into daily life.”

That philosophy addresses a persistent friction point in the eyewear category. While consumers often choose frames based on aesthetics, the reality of wear—slipping bridges, pressure points, uneven balance—can undermine even the most considered purchase. Breezm’s AI-powered Fit Finder aims to solve that disconnect by analyzing facial structure and proportions, recommending styles engineered for both visual harmony and physical comfort.

The app’s offering is extensive: more than 80 frame styles, customizable colorways ranging from understated neutrals to bold tones, and premium material options including titanium finishes. Lens selections span from prescription and progressive to light-responsive and non-prescription, positioning Breezm not just as a design-forward brand, but as a full-service optical solution.

Crucially, the company is also rethinking accessibility. Historically, bespoke eyewear has been synonymous with exclusivity—costing thousands and requiring months of craftsmanship. Breezm compresses that timeline and price point, with custom-fit frames starting at $198, and promotional entry points dipping below $100 for its lightweight Polymer Lite collection.

This balance of personalization and scalability is central to Breezm’s broader strategy. The brand currently operates 15 retail locations across South Korea, including a smart factory in Seoul where customers can witness frames being produced in real time. Its 2024 New York flagship marked its first international retail footprint—a calculated step toward understanding U.S. consumer behavior before scaling nationally through digital channels.

“The U.S. has always been central to Breezm’s vision,” said Silja Kim Bast, the company’s Chief Business Development Officer. “We’ve seen just how many people struggle with glasses that simply don’t fit. This launch allows us to meet that demand wherever customers are.”

What emerges is a hybrid model that blends advanced manufacturing, AI-driven personalization, and direct-to-consumer convenience. It’s a playbook increasingly familiar across industries—from footwear to beauty—but one that feels particularly overdue in eyewear, where fit is not just a preference, but a prerequisite.

For Breezm, the app is less about digitizing retail and more about redefining it. By eliminating the need for physical fittings while preserving the integrity of custom design, the brand is positioning itself at the intersection of health, fashion, and technology.

And in doing so, it raises a broader question for the industry: if precision-fit eyewear can be delivered at scale, what happens to the concept of “standard size” altogether?
