Desigual Vintage Revisits Its 1984 Roots With a Second Limited-Edition Collection for FW26

Desigual is bringing its archive into the present with the second installment of Desigual Vintage, a limited-edition Fall/Winter 2026 collection that revisits the Barcelona-founded brand’s early visual language through archival prints, expressive silhouettes and a renewed appreciation for fashion’s enduring relationship with personal identity.
Originally established in 1984, Desigual has built its reputation on a willingness to challenge conventional dressing through vivid graphics, unconventional construction and a spirited approach to self-expression. The latest Desigual Vintage release returns to that foundation, recovering signature pieces and motifs from the brand’s history and reworking them for a new generation of consumers.
Following the project’s summer debut in Ibiza, the second chapter looks to the year of the brand’s founding as a starting point for exploring how its design identity continues to resonate. Rather than reproducing the past as a fixed reference, the collection treats the archive as a living resource, bringing familiar patterns, shapes and visual codes back into circulation.
Revisiting the Desigual Archive Through Print and Form
Mandalas, asymmetric construction and original graphic prints anchor the Fall/Winter 2026 collection. Concentric mandala patterns appear on second-skin jersey tops, while side drawstrings allow the fabric to gather and shift across the body. Typographic graphics also become textural elements, extending the brand’s distinctive visual language beyond conventional surface decoration.
The collection’s silhouettes emphasize the relationship between clothing and the body. Deep V-necklines with embroidered trims sit alongside off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder designs, while fitted sleeves contrast with expansive kimono-inspired cuts. Across skirts and dresses, pointed handkerchief hems introduce movement in mini and midi lengths, complemented by knotted bust details and flared skirts that reinterpret recognizable Desigual proportions.
Two unisex styles extend the collection beyond its womenswear-focused silhouettes. A white long-sleeved T-shirt and charcoal sweatshirt feature an original archival print, combining angular red, blue and black shapes across the chest with illustrated figures running down the sleeves. The designs preserve the graphic character of the original artwork while introducing it to a contemporary wardrobe.
Color and finish further reinforce the collection’s connection to the past. Black, olive green, deep red, navy and white establish the foundation, punctuated by ochre and pink. Washed surfaces and worn-in textures give the garments a sense of familiarity, suggesting pieces with an existing history rather than products designed to appear entirely new.
An olive-green dress featuring an illustrated face and botanical print brings the collection’s visual identity into particularly sharp focus. Its combination of figurative imagery, nature-inspired detail and unconventional graphics reflects the expressive design approach that has distinguished Desigual since its earliest years.
Vintage as a Continuing Conversation
The second Desigual Vintage release arrives as the company continues to renew its image, collections and retail spaces in pursuit of a new generation of consumers. The archive offers a way to make that transition without abandoning the visual identity that established the brand in the first place.
That distinction is central to the project. Vintage fashion can often depend on nostalgia, but Desigual’s approach places equal emphasis on reinterpretation, encouraging archival designs to find new relevance through styling, context and everyday wear. The result is a collection that connects the brand’s history with its ongoing evolution rather than treating its heritage as something confined to the past.
Community, love and freedom remain central to the collection’s stated ethos, expressed through the unconventional prints, varied proportions and vivid palette that define the release. Each recovered piece becomes another point along a journey that began in Barcelona more than four decades ago.
The second limited-edition Desigual Vintage collection for Fall/Winter 2026 launches October 15, 2026, inviting wearers to revisit the brand’s origins while making the archive their own.
