CHROMATIQUE LAB Brings SINNER SINNER! To Paris For Its Runway Debut

For an independent label, taking time away from the seasonal fashion calendar can be as important as appearing on it. For CHROMATIQUE LAB founder and designer Justin Connor, two years without a collection became an opportunity to reconsider the vocabulary of the brand—and, more importantly, what it could become.
That period of reflection arrives in Paris with SINNER SINNER!, the label’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection and first-ever runway presentation. Presented with Flying Solo on October 7, the show marks a significant shift for the Orlando-based label, bringing clothing, casting, movement, sound, and image together as a singular expression of Connor’s creative world.
The collection is built around contradiction. Familiar codes of dress are displaced through proportion, material, and image, creating tension between propriety and provocation, restraint and exposure, and good taste and its deliberate undoing. Rather than resolving those opposing ideas, Connor allows them to occupy the same space.
It is a sensibility embedded in the collection’s title. SINNER SINNER! borrows the language of accusation, repeating the word until its meaning begins to fracture. What initially sounds like judgment becomes something closer to provocation—or even humor. The collection does not attempt to define transgression as much as question the standards used to determine what is considered transgressive in the first place.
That questioning feels particularly relevant to an independent label navigating an industry increasingly organized around constant output. Connor’s decision to step away from releasing collections offered space for a more critical examination of the work. “Taking time away from releasing collections gave me the space to be much more critical about what CHROMATIQUE LAB needed to be,” he explains. “I became less interested in making things that simply looked good together and more interested in why they belonged together.”
The distinction is important. Fashion often rewards coherence: a recognizable silhouette, a consistent palette, a familiar brand language. SINNER SINNER! instead finds its identity in friction. Ideas that appear incompatible are intentionally forced into proximity, allowing the tension between them to become part of the design itself.
For Connor, the runway debut also expands the scale of CHROMATIQUE LAB. Clothing is no longer presented as an isolated object but as part of a larger visual system in which image, sound, movement, and casting contribute to the meaning of the garment. It is a natural extension of a practice that has always considered the world surrounding the clothes to be inseparable from the clothes themselves.
Founded by Connor in 2013 while he was attending design school, CHROMATIQUE LAB has developed around the examination of familiar dress codes through contradiction, shifting proportion, context, and image. The result is a label resistant to easy categorization—an approach that becomes increasingly apparent as it moves onto a Paris runway for the first time.
Paris, then, is less a destination than a new beginning. The SINNER SINNER! presentation establishes a more fully articulated vision for CHROMATIQUE LAB without attempting to lock the label into a fixed aesthetic. For an independent designer who spent the last two years questioning what his brand should be, the runway offers something more valuable than a conventional debut: the opportunity to find out what happens next.
SINNER SINNER!, Spring/Summer 2027, will be presented in Paris on October 7, 2026, with Flying Solo, with the presentation also available via livestream.
