PUMA And JIL SANDER Revisit Their Defining Partnership With A New Apparel And Footwear Collection

Nearly three decades after their first collaboration redefined the relationship between luxury fashion and sportswear, PUMA and JIL SANDER return for Fall/Winter 2026 with a collection that brings together archival footwear, modern tailoring, and a more considered approach to leisure.
The relationship between luxury fashion and sportswear has become a defining force in contemporary style, but PUMA and JIL SANDER were exploring that intersection long before it became an industry mainstay. Their partnership began in 1998, transforming PUMA’s football-inspired lace-ups into luxury leather sneakers with an understated sensibility that challenged conventional ideas about athletic footwear. Now, under the creative direction of Simone Bellotti, the two brands are building on that legacy with a third collaborative release that introduces apparel to the partnership for the first time.
Launching October 23, the Fall/Winter 2026 collection revisits three enduring PUMA designs: the T7 tracksuit, Speedcat, and Suede. Each serves as a foundation for Bellotti’s interpretation of the relationship between sporting heritage and JIL SANDER’s precise, restrained design language.
The T7 tracksuit, first introduced in 1968 and named for the seven-centimeter Formstrip running along its silhouette, receives a new expression through materials and proportions. A boxy track jacket and tapered track pants are constructed from a bi-stretch wool developed exclusively for JIL SANDER. The fabric balances fluidity with structure while offering breathability and natural thermoregulation, bringing a more elevated sensibility to a familiar sportswear staple. Finished in an exclusive club navy, the set features a brushed silver branded zipper pull and co-branded T7 woven label. A relaxed long-sleeve top in white, made from a cotton and recycled polyester blend, rounds out the apparel offering.
Footwear continues to anchor the collaboration. The Speedcat, originally rooted in motorsport, returns through a reissue of the original PUMA and JIL SANDER archival design. Bellotti introduces an artisanal leather heel detail, while a full leather lining reinforces the shoe’s premium construction. Offered in all-black and all-white leather, the silhouette maintains its streamlined profile while emphasizing material and finish.
The Suede, meanwhile, draws on more than five decades of PUMA history. Reworked in premium leather, the sneaker features a refined outsole, concealed lacing, and a full leather lining. Available exclusively in white, the design strips the familiar silhouette back to its essential elements, allowing proportion and craftsmanship to take precedence.
Together, the three styles illustrate the enduring appeal of the collaboration: rather than relying on overt branding or dramatic reinvention, the collection builds on recognizable sportswear forms through considered adjustments to fabric, construction, and silhouette. It is a design approach that reflects the shared history of both brands while giving their established icons a contemporary context.
That balance between familiarity and reinvention also informs the campaign, starring Meadow Walker and Barry Lawson. Photographed by Guen Fiore and filmed by Lisa Rovner, the imagery unfolds in a natural landscape where tall grass, wildflowers, and open space establish a contrast with the urban sensibility of the clothing. The setting positions the collection between city dressing and outdoor leisure, suggesting a more relaxed relationship with the pieces.
“With this chapter I wanted to slow everything down,” Bellotti said. “We imagined a green field left to grow wild, with tall grass, weeds and wildflowers moving in the wind, and placed Meadow and Barry in it, dressed as if they had just stepped off a city street. They wear pieces from the new collection made for leisure and the outdoors, like the T7 tracksuit, the Speedcat and the Suede. We photographed this still moment from many different points of view, suspended between city and nature.”
The campaign’s emphasis on stillness and the outdoors offers a counterpoint to the performance-driven origins of the designs. Here, sportswear becomes less about competition and more about the everyday rituals of movement, travel, and leisure. That shift also speaks to the broader appeal of archival athletic silhouettes, whose relevance increasingly rests on their ability to move between different settings without losing their original character.
For PUMA and JIL SANDER, the latest collection is both an extension of a longstanding creative dialogue and a new direction for the partnership. The addition of apparel broadens its scope beyond footwear, while the return to three recognizable PUMA archetypes keeps the focus on the codes that first made the collaboration distinctive.
The PUMA x JIL SANDER Fall/Winter 2026 collection will be available globally beginning October 23 at 1 p.m. CEST through JIL SANDER and PUMA stores and their respective websites, with select stockists carrying the collection from October 24.
