Presented inside Paris' Espace Niemeyer during Paris Fashion Week Men's, Comunión, the designer's Spring/Summer 2027 collection transformed the runway into a meditation on family, faith and collective resilience—without sacrificing the sharp tailoring and unmistakable attitude that have become synonymous with his label.
Rather than presenting clothing as individual expression alone, Chavarria framed fashion as a communal language. The collection argued that style gains its greatest significance when it reflects the histories, cultures and relationships that shape those who wear it.
"Comunión is a belief that we are more whole together than apart," Chavarria said in his show notes. That philosophy resonated across every aspect of the presentation, from its casting to its material choices.

The runway reflected the diversity that has long distinguished the designer's work. Romeo Beckham, NBA player Jordan Clarkson, Spanish singer Judeline and Mexican artist El Bogueto walked alongside actors, artists and creatives whose presence reinforced Chavarria's ongoing commitment to representation. In the front row, musicians including Maluma, Tove Lo and SAINt JHN joined designers, filmmakers and football stars, underscoring the increasingly interdisciplinary audience surrounding the brand.
Visually, Comunión expanded the vocabulary Chavarria has steadily refined over recent seasons.
Tailoring remained the foundation, but softened. Relaxed suiting appeared alongside abbreviated shorts, while sculptural shoulders added architectural confidence without overwhelming the body. Signature pointed collars, structured shirting and padded knitwear projected authority, balanced by fluid pleated dresses, cascading lace gowns and silk silhouettes that introduced softness into the collection's otherwise commanding proportions.

For womenswear, Chavarria continued building a distinct identity rather than simply translating menswear codes. Form-fitting pencil skirts layered over boxer shorts, cropped tailoring, leather miniskirts paired with workwear-inspired shirting and voluminous cocktail dresses suggested a wardrobe equally grounded in elegance and resilience.

Colors referenced domestic familiarity rather than seasonal trends: fading kitchen walls, embroidered linens, floral tablecloths and inherited household textiles inspired shades such as Willy Red, Purple Cielo, Plastic Pink, Celestial Blue and Copper Green. Even couture embraced nostalgia through innovation. Heat-imprinted vinyl flowers fused into translucent organza created garments that resembled oversized childhood stickers, introducing an unexpected innocence within an otherwise sophisticated collection.

His first collaboration with UGG unveiled footwear that juxtaposed biker-inspired toughness against the California brand's unmistakable comfort. The Guard Boot, Biker silhouette and Hotel Chavarria Slipper explored the tension between rebellion and intimacy—a reflection of Chavarria's broader message that strength and vulnerability are not opposing forces but complementary ones.
"We've designed this collection to be fierce and friendly," Chavarria explained. "UGG and I remind you that you are untouchable and you are loved."
Technology also played an unusually meaningful role.
Following its Paris debut, every runway look will become immediately available through AI-powered virtual try-on via Swap, allowing consumers to digitally experience and preorder the collection well before traditional retail delivery windows. Rather than treating digital fashion as novelty, the initiative demonstrates how emerging technology can reduce the distance between runway presentation and customer engagement—a growing priority as luxury brands seek more immediate relationships with consumers.

Backstage, inclusivity extended beyond casting.
Returning as exclusive skincare partner, The Ordinary transformed model preparation into what the brand described as "Skin in Common," ensuring every model, crew member and team participant received the same skincare ritual regardless of status. The gesture echoed Comunión's central message: equality is most convincing when practiced rather than proclaimed.
Guests encountered the philosophy before the first look even appeared. The venue carried the earthy fragrance of XINÚ's FlordeMusgo, while handcrafted driftwood palitos gathered from Mexico rested on every seat, each wrapped with scent-infused thread as tactile reminders of memory, ritual and belonging.
These details illustrated what increasingly distinguishes Willy Chavarria within contemporary luxury. While many designers build worlds through fantasy, Chavarria builds them through lived experience. His collections remain deeply informed by his Mexican-American heritage and Chicano identity, yet consistently transcend autobiography to speak to broader questions of community, dignity and hope.
