Wrapped // Unbound: Herskind AW26 at Copenhagen Fashion Week

At Copenhagen Fashion Week, Herskind unveiled its AW26 collection, Wrapped // Unbound, a study in strength that resists spectacle. This is power that does not announce itself—no rigid silhouettes or overt declarations—only a calm, assured presence that speaks through restraint. It is a confidence rooted in knowing who you are, rather than proving it.
That philosophy is deeply embedded in the brand’s approach to craft.
“I think that is very important for our brand… that we are very much in the details,”
explains Creative Director Birgitte Herskind.
“We have a high level for the quality. The fabrics are from Italy. It’s crafted, most of it, in Europe. When you feel it, you can really feel this is high quality.”
The emphasis on tactility and finish is not decorative—it is foundational, reinforcing the idea that strength can be felt rather than seen.
The collection continues Herskind’s evolution of modern tailoring, but with a noticeably softer hand. Classic silhouettes are relaxed through asymmetry, draping, and sculptural construction that allows garments to move intuitively with the body.
“We worked a lot with a more sculpture, a little bit more relaxed,”
Herskind notes.
“As a female now, we used to have the big men’s shoulders. I think it’s time now to relax a little and say, ‘We’re actually strong without dressing up for being strong.’”
The result is a collection that feels feminine without fragility, powerful without armor.
Texture plays a defining role throughout AW26. Shearling, leather, knitwear, and fluid silks bring depth and warmth, while cocooned shapes and reimagined blazers, shirts, and trousers suggest protection rather than constraint. The strength here is internal—expressed through comfort, balance, and confidence.
This season’s quiet assurance resonates with a broader narrative seen across CPHFW, where comfort emerged as a central theme. Comfort, after all, can take many forms: soft textures and warmth, a sense of cocooning protection, or the deeper ease of being certain about who you are. For Autumn/Winter 2026, Rabens Saloner leaned fully into this idea, offering a collection that allowed women to relax into their personal comfort zones without compromising on style.
At Rabens Saloner, texture and colour are paramount. Fabrics that beg to be touched appear in warm, enveloping tones. Black—an enduring wardrobe anchor—is softened by hues of whiskey, chestnut, indigo, and clay grey, while signature hand-dye techniques blend earth tones and vibrant blues into marble-like effects. Outerwear becomes a first defence against winter: sculptural shearling jackets, practical nylon parkas with cycle-friendly splits, and quilted technical cotton pieces designed for layering and real life.
Herskind’s own palette remains grounded and intentional—olive, khaki, chocolate, camel, grey, ivory, and white—underscoring the brand’s commitment to longevity over trend. These tones allow silhouette, material, and construction to lead, reinforcing a design language built on restraint and refinement.
Across tailoring, outerwear, and knitwear, AW26 at Copenhagen Fashion Week reflects a shared belief: true elegance only emerges when comfort—both physical and emotional—is present. Wrapped // Unbound captures this shift with clarity. In Herskind’s vision, femininity is assured, craftsmanship is felt, and strength exists without performance—proof that the most compelling statements are often the quietest.
