T’ABBE SS27 Turns Fashion Into A Conversation Between Generations

For Talia Abbe, clothing has always been more than something worn. Through T’ABBE, the New York-based designer has explored the emotional relationship between what we put on our bodies and how we experience ourselves within them. For Spring/Summer 2027, that conversation becomes particularly personal, turning toward memory, inheritance and the creative language passed between generations.
Presented at Serendipity3 during New York Fashion Week, the collection placed 19 looks inside a setting already steeped in nostalgia, fantasy and indulgence. The juxtaposition felt intentional. T’ABBE’s clothes move between the familiar and the theatrical, where fluid ready-to-wear and refined separates meet exaggerated volumes, custom textiles and the inflatable latex elements that have become part of Abbe’s design vocabulary.
Color further pushes the collection into a world somewhere between memory and imagination. Primrose pink, deep wine, lemon meringue and powder blue create a confectionary palette, while shifting proportions give otherwise recognizable silhouettes an unexpected dimension. The clothes can feel soft and protective one moment, exaggerated and escapist the next.
That tension is central to T’ABBE. Abbe is interested in the ways clothing can offer confidence, comfort or protection while simultaneously giving shape to something internal. For Spring/Summer 2027, however, the source material is not solely emotional. It is familial.
While exploring an archive of photographs, objects and creative work belonging to the women in her family, Abbe encountered vintage sketches by her grandmother depicting a raincoat she had once imagined creating. Rather than reproduce the design, Abbe translated the unrealized idea through her own perspective. The result is less about recreating the past than allowing it to continue evolving.
It is a fitting metaphor for inheritance itself. Ideas rarely move cleanly from one generation to the next. They are altered by context, experience and personal interpretation. In Abbe’s case, her grandmother’s unfinished thought becomes part of a contemporary wardrobe, demonstrating how creative instincts can survive even when the original object never does.
That generational dialogue extends beyond Abbe’s family through T’ABBE’s ongoing collaboration with Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), a national nonprofit focused on ending mental health stigma through youth advocacy. Following a nationwide competition that invited students to create artwork centered on self-expression and mental wellness, the selected artwork was transformed into a custom print and incorporated into the Spring/Summer 2027 collection.
The addition introduces another form of inheritance into the collection: the passing of creative expression from one generation to another. Abbe’s grandmother’s sketches and the work of a young artist exist decades apart, yet both become part of the same visual conversation.
“This collection feels particularly personal because it brings together different generations and different ways of expressing ourselves,” says Talia Abbe, founder and designer of T’ABBE. “I was able to look at something my grandmother imagined creating and reconsider it through my own perspective, while also bringing the work of a young artist into the collection through Bring Change to Mind. They come from very different places, but both speak to the idea that what we create can carry something of our internal lives into the world.”
Serendipity3 amplified that idea. Few New York settings are as immediately connected to fantasy and nostalgia as the storied restaurant, making it a natural backdrop for a collection concerned with memory and imagination. The heightened environment gave T’ABBE’s more theatrical pieces room to exist alongside the quieter references to family and personal history.
The guest list further situated the collection within contemporary fashion and popular culture, with appearances from Sam Feher of Summer House, Chelsea Vaughn of The Bachelor Season 25, and stylist, editor and influencer Caroline Vazzana.
Ultimately, T’ABBE Spring/Summer 2027 is concerned with what remains after an experience has passed. A garment can protect the body, but it can also preserve an idea, recall a person or give an emotion somewhere to live. Abbe’s latest collection considers those possibilities without treating the past as something static.
Instead, memory becomes material. Inherited ideas can be reshaped, unfinished designs can find new lives and personal experiences can become part of a larger creative language. For T’ABBE, the wardrobe is not simply a reflection of where we come from. It can also be a way of deciding what we carry forward.
