PlayON and iPLAY: how the rewards program connects to your online play
By PAGE Editor
iPLAY and PlayON are two separate things, but they work together. If you've been using one without fully utilizing the other, you could be missing out. Here's how they connect - and what you get when you use both.
A lot of players are familiar with WV Lottery promotions through in-store play, but the link between iPLAY and PlayON is where online play picks up additional value.
What’s the difference?
iPLAY is the West Virginia Lottery's official online platform. It's where you purchase draw game entries, play iNSTANT games, and manage your account. To use it, you need to be 18 or older, have a verified WV Lottery account, and be physically located within West Virginia at the time of play.
PlayON is the WV Lottery's free loyalty program. It runs alongside your play - in-store and online - and rewards you with points for eligible activity. When you register for an iPLAY account, you're automatically enrolled in PlayON. There's nothing extra to sign up for.
How they connect
Every eligible purchase through iPLAY, such as draw games and iNSTANT games, earns PlayON points. Those points sit in your PlayON dashboard and can be redeemed to enter loyalty drawings for cash prizes and experiences.
With iPLAY you can access special promotions such as bonus credits, custom offers, and exclusive PlayON promo codes that are distributed through notifications, emails, or in-person events. The connection runs the other way, too. PlayON is how you access promotions tied to your iPLAY account. Custom offers, bonus credits, and exclusive promo codes are distributed through PlayON notifications, email, or in person events, and are redeemed through iPLAY. Promo codes can unlock bonus credits, discounts, or additional entries, and are worth using as soon as they come through, as they may expire.
In-store play also feeds into PlayON. Scan eligible scratch tickets and draw games using the WVL app, and points are added to your account the same way as online purchases. All WV Lottery scratch-off games and draw games qualify for points regardless of whether the ticket wins.
Second chance drawings
Second chance drawings are one of the more practical PlayON features. Eligible winning and non-winning tickets get an additional entry into a separate drawing.
To enter, log in to your iPLAY account, go to the PlayON second chance section, and scan or manually enter your ticket. You're automatically entered into the corresponding promotion from there.
Staying across promotions in 2026
The WV Lottery runs a regular promotions calendar that includes seasonal campaigns and loyalty drawings. But there’s always something going on.
The easiest way to stay informed on upcoming promotions and rewards is through your account settings. Go to News & Winning, then Communication Preferences, and confirm you've opted in to emails. Switch on app notifications too – limited-time offers and promo codes often have short windows.
Getting the most out of iPLAY
To make the most out of iPLAY, scan every eligible ticket whether it wins or not, check your PlayON dashboard regularly for bonus opportunities, and opt in to communications so offers reach you. iPLAY also runs welcome offers for new players regularly - worth looking out for if you haven’t registered yet.
Play within your means. No win is ever guaranteed. If you need support, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
